Common Reasons to Request Cooling-System Service

Engine Temperature Rising

The temperature gauge moves above normal, a temperature warning appears or the vehicle reports an overheating condition.

Coolant Leak or Puddle

Fluid appears under the vehicle, coolant is visible in the engine compartment or dried coolant residue is found around cooling-system components.

Low Coolant Warning

The coolant warning returns, the reservoir level continues to drop or the system requires repeated top-offs.

Steam or Coolant Odor

Steam or mist appears from under the hood, or a sweet coolant smell is noticeable after driving or while the engine is running.

Overheating in Traffic or Under Load

The temperature stays normal in some conditions but rises while idling, driving in traffic, climbing hills or carrying a heavier load.

Weak Heat or Unstable Temperature

Cabin heat becomes weak or turns cold while the engine temperature fluctuates or the coolant level drops.

Similar symptoms can have different causes, so we test the system before recommending parts or repairs.

What We Diagnose and Repair

The exact diagnostic path depends on when the problem occurs and what the initial inspection reveals.

Coolant Leaks & System Pressure

Pressure testing and inspection of the radiator, hoses, connections, reservoir, pressure cap and accessible cooling-system components.

Temperature & Coolant Circulation

Engine-temperature behavior, thermostat operation, coolant circulation and signs of trapped air or restricted flow.

Water Pump Operation

Mechanical or electric water-pump operation, visible leakage, bearing condition, drive-belt condition and related fault information when available.

Radiator & Airflow

Radiator condition, visible damage, external blockage and the system’s ability to transfer heat under operating conditions.

Cooling Fans & Electrical Controls

Fan operation, commanded fan response, fuses, relays, wiring, temperature-sensor information and related control circuits.

Possible Internal Engine Leaks

Cooling-system pressure behavior and combustion-gas testing when the findings indicate a possible head-gasket or internal engine concern.

After the cause is confirmed, we handle repairs involving hoses, reservoirs, radiators, thermostats, water pumps, cooling fans, sensors, wiring and coolant service. The repair scope and price are confirmed before work begins.

How Cooling-System Service Works

  1. 01

    Review the Symptoms

We review when the problem occurs, any warning messages, recent coolant loss, previous repairs and other details that may affect the diagnostic path.

  2. 02

    Inspect & Test the System

Once the engine can be inspected safely, we check the cooling system and perform the tests indicated by the symptoms and initial findings.

  3. 03

    Explain the Findings

We explain the confirmed cause, the recommended repair, the price and whether the work can be completed at the vehicle’s location. No additional work begins without your approval.

  4. 04

    Repair & Verify

After the repair is approved, we complete the work, refill and bleed the cooling system as required, bring the engine to operating temperature and verify that the repaired system operates correctly.

Josh Morr

★★★★★
Alex was able to come to my home, diagnose my issue, and make the repairs all within the same day of me calling in my problem in the morning. It was fast, well priced, professional, and respectful. I had a water pump failure that made me feel unable to drive my vehicle to a mechanic shop, which made Alex a perfect business to help me. In addition, I had him replace all the brake pads and belts as well. I would highly recommend their services

★★★★★
Very good mechanic—you can trust him with your car without worry. He’s conscientious and honest. He performed a full diagnostic, identified the issue, and replaced all the parts that needed to be replaced. He also provided photos of the old parts and consulted me about the overall condition of the vehicle. I definitely recommend him and will be referring friends and acquaintances. If you’re looking for an honest professional, you should contact him.

Alex came out to help with my vehicle and was incredibly communicative, fast, and clearly cared about getting my car fixed right. He flagged a few issues I wasn’t even aware of and kept me updated every step of the way. I’ve worked with plenty of car repair services over the years, and this was hands down one of the best experiences I’ve had. I’ll definitely be calling Alex again for any future car issues, 11/10 recommend!

Cooling-System Service FAQs

Can you diagnose the problem if the vehicle is not overheating during the appointment?

Yes. We use the reported symptoms, warning history, stored fault information, pressure testing, temperature data and component testing to investigate intermittent problems. Conditions requiring extended testing may be scheduled as an Advanced Diagnostic Service Call.

Can the repair be completed during the same visit?

Many cooling-system repairs can be completed during the same visit when the cause is confirmed, the correct parts are available and the repair is suitable for the vehicle’s location. Some repairs require additional parts, more diagnostic time or shop equipment.

Which cooling-system repairs can be completed at my location?

Depending on the vehicle and component access, mobile repairs may include hoses, reservoirs, radiators, thermostats, water pumps, cooling fans, sensors, wiring and coolant service.

Can you find a coolant leak if there is no puddle?

Yes. Some leaks occur only when the system is hot or pressurized, while others drip onto hot components and evaporate before reaching the ground. We inspect and test the system to locate the source instead of relying only on a visible puddle.

Is the repair covered by a warranty?

Repairs completed by Lubomiroff Performance include warranty coverage under our published warranty terms. Coverage depends on the repair and the parts used.

How should I prepare the vehicle for the appointment?

Park the vehicle on a safe, reasonably level surface with enough room to access the engine compartment. If possible, leave the engine off before the appointment so the cooling system can be inspected safely.

Cooling-System Problem? We’ll Take Care of It.

Send us the vehicle year, make and model, its location and a short description of the problem. Include any warning messages, when the temperature rises, whether the coolant level is dropping and any recent cooling-system repairs. We’ll review the information, confirm which diagnostic service call applies and provide available appointment options.

If the vehicle requires a repair that cannot be completed at its location, we handle the repair at our shop. We arrange pickup and return the vehicle after the repair is completed and verified.
